Gallery An actual walk-through of The Opposite of Invisible is coming soon . . . as soon as I can get down to Pike Place Market with my trusty camera in hand . . . |

But I can't wait to show you where my mind was when I wrote this book, so for now, here’s a look at my city. I live in a neighborhood called Fremont. Some people say Fremont's gotten boring lately. But I think these sights prove there's still plenty of spice in the 'hood! This big sign sits at Fremont's major intersection. My favorite part is cut off – "Noogie: Top of Head." I don't know why it's there, but I like this rocket. Dinosaurs! Made of wire! Being covered by ivy! Here's our drawbridge. Here's a shot that shows that the draw bridge functions. Fremont's
big event is the summer solstice. On that weekend, there's a huge fair
and a parade . . . with naked bicyclists. These guys were asking people
to staple dollar bills to their skin. Look, it worked!
Some cool graffiti that would surely inspire my character Jewel to snap
a photo.
What's that lurking in the background? It's the . . .
. . . Fremont Troll, where some major drama goes down in the book.
Here's the troll with some different graffiti. It tends to change.
Boy, seeing all this fun stuff in Fremont kinda makes you want to read
a book set there, doesn't it? *grin* |
